What are you listening to at the moment?
DNR (Dreams Not Reality) - (www.dnrofficial.com) Sebastiano recently
joined the Euro-Visual band as vocals and keyboards. The group opened
for J-rock legends Versailles, and played for a 10,000+ crowd at Notte
Rosa. Last month, we collaborated on a glam music project in Rome…
can’t wait to share with you!
What’s your favourite undiscovered blog/website?
We love famous Hong Kong fashion editor / icon Wyman Wong
(http://t.sina.com.cn/wymanwong). He was a blast to hang out with at
LuisaViaRoma.
If you could steal someone’s career, whose would you choose?
La Carmina: I love Andrew Zimmern and Anthony Bourdain’s paths (TV
hosting, writing and tons of creative ventures). But I’d love to build
up something entirely of my own.
Sebastiano: Yoshiki of the band X JAPAN.
What’s your most embarrassing fashion mistake?
The LuisaViaRoma closing party had an “Animalier” theme. Everyone
showed up in chic leopard print clothes. But we wore the Hong Kong
kiddy-streetwear brand Bros Products — we piled on cute bright
accessories, and looked like a Harajuku toy store exploded on us. Our
outfits made an impact, to say the least!
What is your favourite movie wardrobe?
La Carmina: Interview with the Vampire
Sebastiano: The Cell
Who would you most like to dress?
La Carmina: I’d love to dress up Visual Kei darling, Kaya
(http://bit.ly/b3jkz0). He wears gorgeous bonnets and Lolita dresses.
Sebastiano: I would love to design Final Fantasy’s new costumes.
If you were an animal what would you be?
La Carmina: My round, earless Scottish Fold cat, Basil Farrow! You can
see his photos on his blog, http://lacarmina.com/basilfarrow
Sebastiano: A biggggg panda!
Words to live by/best advice you have ever been given?
“Don’t be a tuna head!” It’s a line from our beloved 1980s computer
game, Maniac Mansion.
Most treasured possession?
La Carmina: Old family photos, from the pre-Internet days.
Sebastiano: My stuffed dog, Girotondino, who has traveled to over 20
countries with me. I wore him on my head at Luisaviaroma’s Animalier
party.
Leather or lace?
La Carmina: Both, that’s my usual look.
Sebastiano: Leather
Madonna or Gaga?
La Carmina: 1980s Madonna, with long lace gloves and rosary necklaces.
Sebastiano: Grace Jones.
New York or London?
La Carmina: I’ll say London, since I’m itching to visit Camden
Market’s Goth Punk stores again. Especially Cyberdog.
Sebastiano: New York, New York.
Love or lust?
La Carmina: Bloodlust.
Sebastiano: Lusting love.
Sugar or spice?
Both, baked together in a gingerbread cake.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, out of sight out of mind?
These days, with Skype and Gmail and smart phones, it’s a moot question!
Talent you would love to have?
Super kung fu powers.
Favorite designer?
La Carmina: It’s hard to pick one. I adore Japenese Goth Lolita Punk
brands, like Putomayo, Blablahospital, Victorian Maiden, Innocent World.
Sebastiano: h.NAOTO, Gothic Japan designer.
If you could buy anything in Luisa Via Roma right now, what would it
be?
La Carmina: The Alexander McQueen shoes that I wore in my blogger style lab.
Sebastiano: Love the Rick Owens jacket that I modelled in my styling lab.
What keeps you up at night?
The Japan earthquake devastated us, and made us determined to help. We
founded Project HOPE, a t-shirt line with Japanese label Like
Atmosphere. Various artists contributed designs, with proceeds going
to the victims of the tsunami and earthquake. One of the designs,
drawn by Alice and the Cat, is inspired by us. You can see photos and
pick one up here (http://www.lacarmina.com/main.php).
